Forex Market Sessions and Time Zones

Two Time Zones
There are two Forex time zones (Summer and Winter):

Forex Market Sessions

The Best Times and Days to Trade Forex Currencies
The overlapping times between two Forex sessions provide wider volatility (pip range movement) and the highest degree of liquidity.
The Best Times to Trade Forex
The London session is traditionally the most active Forex session as it involves transactions from a great number of European countries (UK and EU countries). The second most active session is the New York session. The overlap between these two sessions (London and New York) offers the best opportunities for currency traders. Between 12.00 and 14.00 GMT three markets are open simultaneously (New York, London, and Frankfurt).
- 12:00 to 14:00 GMT
The Best Days to Trade Forex
The best days to trade occur in the middle of the week.
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Notes:
-Fridays are also active until 17.00 GMT
-Avoid trading in the last days of each month, especially on the last days of each quarter
-Be careful when trading on late Wednesdays. At 12.00 (midnight) the rollover rates are tripled to cover weekends
The Best Months to Trade Forex Currencies
Based on statistics, each different currency pair has its good and bad months for trading. For example, during December, the European Euro performs very well against the US Dollar.
